Leonor Leal was born in Jerez de la Frontera. Se was trained in ballet and spanish dance, and consecutively in flamenco, soon participating in some of the most renowned dance companies, like that of Antonio “El Pipa”, Andrés Marín, Javier Barón or Cristina Hoyos. Further on, she became part of various projects in which she shares the stage with artists such as: Antonio Canales, Rafael Campallo, Joaquín Grilo, Alejandro Granados, Mie Matsuma, Camerata Flamenco Proyect, José Antonio Ruiz, Dorantes, Rosa Torres Pardo, or the guitarist Rafael Bonavita among many others. She premiered her first solo show in 2008 called “Leoleolé”, with which she obtained a grand acceptance from the national and international critics. She obtained the award for “Outstanding Artist” at the choreographic competition in Madrid and the “Best New Artist at the Jerez Festival in 2011”. She participated at the Sevilla Flamenco Biennial Festival in 2012 with “La mujer habitada”, directed by Victor Zambrana. She worked with different formats creating short experimental pieces like “El Verbo en tu Boca” (Sevilla Bienal 2014), “Frágil” (Dusseldorf Festival 2015), or “Videodanzas” in collaboration with filmmaker Félix Vázquez. She combines her artistic career with teaching, frequently participating in schools and International Flamenco Festivals, like: the Ibérica Festival in Querétaro, the Berlin Festival, private schools and academies in Frankfurt, Freiburg, Roma, France or Russia. At the same time she is studying a Master Degree in Performing Practices and Visual Culture at the Reina Sofía in Madrid.
