Klaus Wladar was born in Vienna in 1972 and began learning the guitar at the age of fourteen. He began his studies at the Mozarteum in Salzburg with Eliot Fisk. His further path led him to teachers such as Dagoberto Linhares (Conservatoire de Lausanne), Alex Garrobé (Barcelona) and Franz Halász (Musikhochschule Augsburg). After successfully completing his master class in Lausanne, he performed the “Concierto de Aranjuez” with the Orchestre de Chambre de Lausanne. An extensive tour with this concert with various Swiss orchestras followed. Klaus Wladar has won prizes at international guitar competitions such as the Concorso Internazionale Cittá di Stresa (Italy), the International Guitar Competition Volos (Greece) and the Tokyo International Guitarcontest (Japan). He has appeared on radio and television. Klaus Wladar is regularly invited to international guitar festivals both as a lecturer and as a concert artist and teaches a guitar class at the Leopold Mozart Center of the University of Augsburg. Klaus Wladar regularly performs as a soloist and chamber musician in Austria, Switzerland, France, Holland, Italy, Portugal, Japan, Bulgaria, Luxembourg, Croatia and Spain. Together with Takeo Sato and Dimitri Lavrentiev he forms the Alegrías Guitar Trio.
